WiM Bytes: Your Pitch

How to pitch non-fiction work with Dr Caroline Graham

Did you start writing a book, script or doco in iso? Or would you like to but aren’t quite sure how to manage the process? Walkley Award-winner, podcast guru and university lecturer Dr Caroline Graham will take us through the process of creating content, and how to then pitch it.

Dr Graham was co-writer/co-producer of Lost in Larrimah, a six-part literary true crime podcast published by The Australian in 2018. The series won several awards, including a Walkley Award, and has since been optioned by HBO, with Orange is the New Black showrunner Sara Lee Hess attached as a writer.

She is also the co-author of Writing Feature Stories: How to research and write articles – from listicles to longform (Allen & Unwin, 2017) and when she’s not teaching, she writes fiction and creative non-fiction.
