Join the NSW Committee

Position Description
Women in Media is seeking an active, engaged and self-motivated media industry professional to join our NSW volunteer committee. The role will be part of the country’s leading Women in Media committee and seeks an industry leader with a passion for bringing colleagues together to network, build community and create change.
In this role, you actively participate in the NSW committee meeting under the State Convenor lead. The main aim of the NSW committee is to engage with and recruit new members and to create and run events throughout the year. The goal of these events is to bring media women and industry leaders together to shift the balance on gender equality by supporting the professional development of women in the industry.
With assistance from the NSW State Convenor, you will assist with tasks such as running your own events and budget and be encouraged to engage with potential sponsors.
The successful candidate for this role will possess high energy and enthusiasm for WiM, excellent communication skills, strong organisational skills, leadership qualities and have capacity and a desire to pitch in and help with organising and running events.

Responsibilities:

Participate in the monthly committee meetings

Assist with creating and running 3 – 4 events per year

About The Organisation
Women in Media (WiM) is a not-for-profit national industry body that exists to help women in the media industry excel, learn, contribute, and connect. WiM strives to be part of the solution to addressing gender inequity in the media landscape, empowering women to secure jobs, progress in their careers and thrive at work. WiM also aims to increase gender equality in the representation of women in the media. WiM has 6000 members nationwide with branches in each state and territory and a national overarching body to assist the states and territories.
