Women in Media Australia welcomes Anna Draffin to its Board of Directors

Women in Media Australia – the national charity working to improve gender equity and impact across the media sector – today announced the appointment of Anna Draffin to its Board of Directors effective immediately.


Anna is an experienced non-executive director and senior executive with a career spanning philanthropy, government, media, and the for-purpose sector. She works across government, business, and community to deliver impact, with a particular focus on place-based policy, investment, and infrastructure.


Anna currently holds senior advisory and board roles across state and local government, NGOs, and philanthropy. She is a member of the Victorian Government’s Metropolitan Development Advisory Panel and serves on the City of Melbourne’s Homes Melbourne Advisory Board, chairing its project evaluation panel.


Previously CEO of the Public Interest Journalism Initiative – an independent think tank strengthening the sustainability and diversity of Australia’s news media – Anna now advises a range of organisations. She is the former Deputy CEO of Philanthropy Australia and brings over two decades of philanthropy and impact investment experience to the Board. Anna has held numerous non-executive roles including Chair of YWCA National Housing and with ShareGift Australia and the Community Council of Australia. Anna’s extensive network in philanthropic and impact sectors will be of significant value to Women in Media.


Anna joined Women in Media’s Finance, Audit and Risk Committee as an external member in July 2025 and has subsequently been acting as Company Secretary.
